We are celebrating the National Park Service Centennial.

How many Parks can we take steps in?

10K Steps a Day Challenge starts August 8th

Why 10,000
Steps a Day?

Studies have linked sitting for long periods of time with a number of health issues, including obesity, high blood pressure, abnormal cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. Studies also have shown that if you can take at least 10,000 steps a day, you can improve your health and offset some of risks associated with a sedentary life style.

There are over 18,000 miles (which is approximately 38 million steps!) of trails in the 58 national parks in the National Park Service. In celebration of the National Parks Service Centennial, our 6-week challenge will be to see how many of those parks we can take virtual steps in. By then end of the challenge, you may be walking up to 5 miles a day and get to experience the beauty of our National Parks.

Do you
really know?

Do you know how many steps you take per day? Join our challenge to virtually step in all of the 58 parks in the National Park Service and find out how may steps you take a day.
